hime on the float

Here's our other Galaxy Fraulein Yuna costumes on the float for the cherry blossom parade in San Francisco.

Costumes made by: Me, Robin, and Ely (Ryan tried to help for a second, got frustrated and quit..good for nothing...T_T)

My wings (the black ones) are made out of sign foam. I started with to big sheets, drew out the shape, and had to carve the curves into it by hand with a single sanding block. I inhaled SO much foam dust while constructing those I wonder why I'm not dead! They would have been lightweight, but I used way too much caulk glue to secure the plastic parts that they added another 20 lbs per wing!! Those were soo heavy and sat in such an awkward position on my back I wanted to cry by the end of the day.
